The picturesque mountain resort of Zermatt is the jewel in Switzerland’s alpine crown. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, with the magical Matterhorn dominating the skyline, Zermatt is one of the most attractive resorts in the whole of the Alps. Traditional, chocolate-box chalets line the cobbled streets, while 19th century hotels create an air of luxury in this most cosmopolitan of resorts. Combine this with 350km of outstanding pistes on both the Swiss and Italian sides of the border, some of the highest skiing in Europe, fabulous nightlife and a number of the world’s best mountain restaurants, and you have the makings of a simply superb ski holiday.
