Prices Include: UK Flights  | Transfers | Accommodation  Chalet Pollux is one of our three unique - and until now impossible - Zermatt residences (our Chalet Gemini and Chalet Castor being the others): a luxurious semi-detached (with chalet Castor) three storey independent chalet with 4 bedrooms, large enough for groups of 8 guests each. Its location provides the best of both worlds: spectacular views and easy access. Side by side, tucked against a beautiful hillside, the numerous balconies and large terraces give you bird's eye views of the village and the surrounding mountains, encompassing all three of Zermatt's ski areas. Yet access is easy: 200m from the Matterhorn Express base lift station and resort run there is a street level tunnel which leads you to a lift (elevator) built inside the mountain, from the top of which there is a gentle 2 minute walk to the property. Skis and boots can be left in the tunnel's ski-room. Although it does not have a Matterhorn view, the chalet is bathed in sun as soon as it emerges. The chalets is a mirror images of Chalet Castor.
Newly built this year, the chalet has been tastefully decorated, delicately combining an alpine, cozy and contemporary finish, with liberal use of wood and stone. It has all the latest technology with flat-screen TVs, more than a hundred satellite channels, rotating fireplaces and geothermal heating to reduce the chalet's carbon foot-print as much as possible.
The chalet enjoy the use of their own unique private outdoor hot-tub surrounded by snow (in the winter) perfect to relax and enjoy the view (or the stars) after a long day in the mountains. |
Accommodation: | All rooms can be configured as twins or doubles.
On the ground floor each chalet features an entrance hallway that opens onto a living room with a wood fire, satellite TV/DVD and music system and a dining area with open plan modern kitchen.
A spiral staircase leads to the first floor which features a bedroom with en suite bathroom with a bath and a W/C. This is flanked by a further double bedroom also with open plan en suite bathroom (shower) and separate W/C.
The second floor has traditional chalet-style sloping wood ceilings and features a bedroom with en suite bathrooms and separate W/C and a unique 'gel' fire place (this is real fire, burning a special gel). There is also a further double bedroom with its own bathroom (shower) and separate W/C.
Each bedroom has its own TV (satellite/DVD) and stunning mountain views and its own balcony. On the ground floor, the living room has a patio terrace. Each chalet is equiped with wireless broadband. |
