Apres Ski in Zermatt
Zerrmatt is lively and varied with something to suit all tastes and is as famous for its lively nightlife as it is for it's skiing. The village has an excellent range of cafés and bars - recommendations for a swinging night out are Papperla bar, Elsie's place, the bar Vernissage, the Village and the Pink Elephant for jazz. Try also the Pollux, the Broken Barrel or for something special 'Elsie's Bar', famous for its oysters and champagne.
The nightclub where everyone goes is the Scneewitchen Nightclub, which is located below Papperla Pub.
The town also is well known for its vast array of fabulous restaurants with over 90 in the town to choose from. A typical 3-course meal will cost anything and upwards from approx. 40 Swiss Francs. For cheaper 'fast-food' style alternatives try the Brown Cow Snack Bar for great burgers, Stockhorn Grill or The Spaghetti Factory.
For those not partaking in either skiing or snowboarding there is plenty to do both during the day and in the evening. Zermatt has a dozen indoor swimming pools, 3 ice rinks, 2 indoor tennis courts, a squash, gym & fitness centre, a pool/billiard centre and a 9-pin bowling alley.
For those who enjoy activities outside, there are over 30 km of winter walking routes, sleigh rides mountaineering expeditions, heli-skiing, scenic helicopter flights and a paragliding school offering tandem flights.

Chez Vrony Restaurant- Website:

Renowned for its fantastic mountain restaurants, Zermatt is heaven for foodies and gourmet enthusiasts. Anyone who wants to sample top quality cuisine in wonderfully traditional Alpine surroundings, rather than settling for the usual jam-packed, over-priced, self-service canteens that many resorts claim to be restaurants, will fall in love with Zermatt. One of the highlights is Chez Vrony, a little mountain hut tucked away in the Findeln area just off piste number six in the Sunnegga area.
From the outside, it doesn’t look like anything out of the ordinary, but once inside, you enter into a cosy, welcoming world full of the smells of delicious home-made goodness. The recipes have been handed down throughout the generations and the ingredients are organic and locally produced. For Zermatt, the prices are reasonable and the quality of the food just superb. The atmosphere means this is a place for a long and leisurely lunch, and with a short ski down to the chair, it’s ideal for those who want a more relaxed week in the Alps. This has to be one of the best restaurants in this world-famous resort and due to its popularity, reservations in winter are essential.
